While a discipline of disciplines have come into vogue in the form of Knowledge Management that is especially aimed at securing the best of available talent and their knowledge.

Further, to create an ambiance where all can provide their best to the promotion of organizational, social, national and personal interests and objectives. And then to store all such information and knowledge in such a form where they are safe and can be used as and when necessary. The ambitious digitization projects being undertaken by Google and Yahoo are aimed at digitalization of the world’s maximum content published in printed format in a short span of time. It will help the availability of information at the click of the mouse and to one and every body, enhancing the promotion of knowledge and information on a global basis.

Also, such document life cycle management technology with the help of internet and emerging technologies will ensure the longevity of documents and the knowledge stored therein.

However, an important aspect that relates to document life cycle management technology is the high costs associated. Moreover, the technology involved is quite high and requires a lot of R&D activities. It could even take more time from the organizations and governments who are involved in this splendid endeavor.
